Keeping it Local

Why I am 'Keeping it Local'

It is safe to say that Covid-19 has hit all of us hard in some major way.

In business, while some industries have been able to adapt to a new way of working, the travel industry has been one of the hardest hit. As a travel writer and photographer, there are no new trips planned until it is safe to do so.

In Australia, our international borders closed out the rest of the world back in late March 2020.  Some states have been heavily impacted by Covid-19 and have had state borders close on them. Meaning travel in Australia is very restricted.

So what do we do when we can’t travel?

Keep things local.

So with that in mind, here is a local to Melbourne and Country Victoria guide of excellent cafe’s, restaurants, bars and shops that have readapted their business model in order to survive Covid-19.

I am doing this as I am a firm believer in supporting local businesses.  If something that I write happens to generate some sort of income and keeps these businesses alive throughout and at the end of Covid-19, then i’ll be one very happy Melburnian.
